Season 2010

Welcome to Bexley North Football Club (BNFC) for the 2010 season. Last year was an extremely rewarding one for our club, we had a total of 59 teams, 26 non-competition and 33 competition teams. Our U16A girls became the State Champions by winning the Football NSW Champion of Champions competition, a first for our club and the first State Champion girls team from the St George Association.

Last season with assistance from a NSW Government (Dept of Sport and Recreation) grant, we completed a major upgrade to floodlights at our home ground. We also had new toilets and changing facilities as well as improved gear storage thanks to Rockdale City Council. Over the summer (with some financial assistance from Dept of Sport & Recreation and Football Federation Aust), we installed floodlights at Kingsgrove High School to effectively double our training space.

Match reports can be emailed to matchreports@bexleynorthfc.com.au

All players & parents should receive the newsletter as apart from this website it's our primary method of communication with you our members. There are things that we need to let you know.

Tips on writing match reports:

  • Keep your report under 200 words
  • Be positive about your team, even in defeat
  • Clearly show the date, name of team and that of your opponent
  • For U9’s and above, show scores in brackets after the team names
  • No double spacing after full stops
  • Note your position within the team in your sign off
  • Submit your report in the body of your email message, not as an attachment
  • Send the report to matchreports@bexleynorthfc.com.au
  • Make sure they arrive by 9:00pm on the Monday following your match

Playing Gear etc.

New players should see their managers about their shorts, socks and ball and they can contact Gear Steward Richard Andersen. Replacement gear (shorts, socks) can be purchased at the canteen whenever it is open. Any other gear enquiries should be made through your manager who can contact Richard.

A number of people have enquired about the hoodies issued last year. We are not issuing these again this year, but have some stock left for sale at the canteen for $35 each (size 8, 10 and XXXL) and are in the process of ordering some more sizes.

Training

There is still space at the high school. Email Vince vpblatch@optusnet.com.au to enquire.

Volunteers

Bexley North FC is one of the largest junior sports club in the St George district. It is also solely run by volunteers. Committee members, coaches and managers do not get paid. Up to 150 volunteers contributed to the club’s success last year. There may be times when coaches or managers ask for your assistance. Please do not hesitate, step forward and lend a hand.

Communication

There are several avenues of communication from the BNFC Committee to Players / Parents, Coaches and Managers.

  • Monthly Meetings. These take place on the second Monday of every month (all year round) and are held at The Grove Hotel at 8.00pm. At least one representative of every team is required to be in attendance at these meetings. (The BNFC by-laws now includes a fine of $25.00 to teams not represented)
  • Weekly newsletters. These are published every week on our website and by email. Click here to subscribe.
  • Website.  The website is continually updated with important information and all parents are encouraged to refer to it regularly. http://www.bexleynorthfc.com.au/

All members are welcome to attend the monthly meetings and AGM to make their voice heard. Members should also be aware that all correspondence with the SGFA MUST be conducted through the club secretary only.

Please direct any questions regarding registration to Mark Goldsmith, our Club Registrar.
